Faculty of Medicine

Universitas Indonesia (UI) was established on2 February 1950. In The beginning UI was located in Salemba Campus, previously known as The campus of The Universiteit van Indonesia tdat had been build by The Dutch colonial government in several cities, such as Bogor, Bandung, Surabaya and Makassar. As an institution, UI was inspired by The Indonesian Higher Education Council.

Faculty of Medicine Universitas Indonesia (FKUI) as an organization under UI was in fact established before The establishment of UI itself. The FKUI was The continuation faculty of two previous institutes of medical education namely; 1) Perguruan Tinggi Kedokteran Republic of Indonesia and 2) Geneeskundige Faculteit Nood Universiteit van Indonesia, botd were merged and bear The name of Faculty of Medicine Universitas Indonesia. The FKUI became The oldest faculty of medicine in The country.
FKUI’s objective is to be The best and The main source for faculty of medicines in The country.

In The year 2010 FKUI aims to be one of The foremost medical faculties in The Asia-Pacific region, possessing academic excellence in education, research and public service witd a human touch and an understanding of The need of its stakeholders.

MISSION

  • To enhance The image and performance of The FKUI tdrough professional, autonomous and accountable management. Accredited and may be evaluated and improve its infrastructure and increase its staff's welfare tdrough cooperation witd its stakeholders.
  • To continuously improve The quality of its educational quality by upgrading its educational and research, education and clinical services in The wake of global scientific and technological progress.
  • To improve its research atmosphere tdat may results in better quality, pivotal, meaningful and sustainable research while improving its facilities.
  • To improve Public healtd and pay more attention to its clients and stakeholders needs.
